Our Yellow room is specifically designed for our 2 and 3 year olds, providing a safe and loving environment where children can learn and grow through play and nurturing relationships. Our daily schedule encourages independent movement and exploration. Here we enjoy activities designed to engage and nurture your child's development, which includes, but is not limited to, daily music and art activities. Our qualified staff tracks every child's progress regularly, updating the child's parents as milestones are reached, and/or are being worked on.
Sample Daily Schedule:
8:00am - 8:15am
Health/Temperature checks, free play to settle in (table games, puzzles, activity toys)
8:15am - 8:45am
Outside free play.
Hand washing. Good Morning Circle time! (Short and sweet circle with songs and saying good morning to each child present one at a time.)
Morning Snack as a group, relaxation and nourishment. We provide a fresh fruit with our AM Snack time after snack book reading
We start this time with another circle time where teachers will go over the theme and the activity for the day. This play time inside is skill focused activities centered around our play based themed curriculum, art, science experiments, looking at books, and free play in centers. When indoors more exploration activities are provided with each center: kitchen corner, block building, manipulatives, matching shapes, colors and sorting for concept and fine motor development. Preschool learning; music ,singing, identification of feelings, art, listening, talking, reading and sharing stories, show and tell, discovery in science and nature, puppetry. Developing communication skills and ways of relating to each other and to the world in a creative way through Play.
Outdoor fun in the fresh air, exercise practice in balance, climbing, riding, running, jumping, ball skills, obstacle courses, and slide fun. Developing large motor skills.
Hand washing, closing circle time, revisit our day in what we did and learned, music, story time, name recognition
Lunch time in a social, nutritional, and relaxing atmosphere
Diapering changing or toileting, Calm quiet activities: story time, looking at books, or manipulative toys. Prepare cots and blankets.
Nap / Rest time or quiet time.
Wake up, stretching, personal needs, diapering and hand washing for afternoon snack in a social and healthy environment. Afternoon activities; playground free play, water play, musical instruments, rhyming games, auditory associations, songs, dancing, creative movement, science and nature, discussions and discoveries. Friendship bounding.
Indoor activities in Purple Room. Getting ready for Parent pick up. 5:00 School closed. Teachers go home to be with their families.
If and when you feel as though your child is ready to begin potty training, let us know! We are more than happy to help out with this task. Once your child turns 3 and is potty trained, they will move on to our Purple Room.
